SINDERELLA QUEER BALL

This was the 2nd annual SINDERELLA: Queer Ball, an event series I launched in 2022 in partnership with Move Forward Music. Pulling inspiration from balls, both in the formal sense as well as the queer ballroom dance scene, I wanted to throw a party that was catered to queer people of color, that was an opportunity to dress up, show out, and celebrate queer expression during Pride Month. A play on the Cinderella fairytale, changing the C to an S was a subtle but effective way to imprint the intention of the event. What began as a club night grew into a mini festival, rooted in community-building and platforming local and global queer Black artists. I led on ideation, venue scouting and logistics, lineup curation, volunteer outreach and coordination, and social media marketing.
